a simple way to show the host
How to find the host in Modern Warefare 2
This little and easy tutorial will show you how you can find the host in MW2 Servers. Maybe it's not very useful, but it's interestig to find the host, sometimes it prevent laggs if the host leave, especially if the host-migration doesn't work.
This method simply increase the ping bars.
First Step:
Navigate to
"\Steam\SteamApps\common\call of duty modern warfare 2\players
and open
"config_mp.cfg"
with Word Pad. Editor also works, but it'll be very messy.
Second Step:
Search ([Strg]+[F]) for
seta cgScoresPingInterval "100"
and change the 100 to 20 If you're done with this step and start your game now, each of the bars represents 20ms, with full green being 20ms or lower, and 1 red being 200ms or higher.
Third Step:
This is the last step. Search for
seta cgScoresPingMaxBars "4"
and change the 4 to 10 With saving the config, MW2 shows now 10 instead of 4 ping bars.
Now it's easy to find the host. Open the score board and look who got all ping bars green. This is the host because he sits next to the "server", his own computer.
